Reading
Books I have checked out from the library:
Anansi boys / Neil Gaiman
Finished. It was a funny and good fantasy, set in our time on our world.
Possible side effects / Augusten Burroughs
I’m halfway through these fun, sometimes nasty, short stories. I love Augusten but I love Dennis more. (I also read Magical Thinking, then passed it on to a friend. She read it in two days and returned it for me.)
Making money : a novel of Discworld / Terry Pratchett
I’m halfway through this too, because the library recalled it during my last chemo recovery when I was reading slooooooowly. Also fun.
Cancer made me a shallower person : a memoir in comics / Miriam Engelberg
Again, halfway through. I made myself stop so there would be some for later. These cartoons are very funny to me, not sure they would be to people who have not been poked 50 times in 5 weeks and lost all their hair.
Running with scissors : a memoir / Augusten Burroughs
Just picked this up after waiting 2 weeks, I can’t wait to start this one after all the hints in the short stories.
The Bromeliad trilogy : truckers, diggers, wings / Terry Pratchett
The boyfriend read this in one sitting til 3am.
Sellevision / Augusten Burroughs.
Also can’t wait but how many books can I read at one time anyway?
The amazing Maurice and his educated rodents / Terry Pratchett
Should be fun.
(Did I mention we don’t watch tv?)

I can only barely imagine not watching TV. It would be like having twice the amount of time I now have — but what would I do with it?
Sellevision is a fun, fast read. I can see why you like Dennis:) But my favorite character is Pighead, in the book Dry. But he’ll make you cry.
To be honest, I use a lot of my extra time on the IRC and reading blogs. I do read a lot more, and I did take 5 classes this year. Got A’s too. Finished the last three while undergoing diagnosis and staging.
I also do crafts and play my guitar. We go to a lot of live music. I live for live music.
I’m on Sellevision now. Pretty fun. I’ll get to Dry. I’m running through all they have at the library as they become available. Running with Scissors had a waiting list.
Sometimes I need a good cry but lately I’ve not needed that much cathartic assistance :-p
Making Money is a hilarious book. Terry Pratchett is one of the few authors who can make me laugh out loud, and that’s one of the books that has done it. (It was a fairly embarrassing moment, if I remember correctly.)
Going Postal had the same effect on me.
American Gods by Neil Gaiman is sitting on top of my pile of books to read. For some reason lately I can’t seem to concentrate.
I can’t afford TV, but you know, I don’t miss it at all.
