Tiring
Saturday morning, right on schedule, my big-time meds wore off and I had a little puking. Nothing really came up though. I felt so very very tired and just bad all day.
Sunday was just a bit better. I slept a lot all weekend.
Then I had to go back to work on Monday. It was a strain to sit up all day and keep working. I accidentally stayed up til 11:30 reading, though.
I woke up at 3:30 am today, and was apparently finished sleeping. I laid there until 5:20 and then got up. I felt good enough to rotate the dishes. I managed to get to work at a semi decent hour.
Now… I’m just “regular” tired.
The good news is I’m now on vacation. We are going to visit my boyfriend’s brother and family for a few days. I’ll be back on Monday to do all the work no one did while I was on vacation, have a “good” week, and then one last AC chemo.
I start Taxol/Herceptin some time in August, weekly, for 12 weeks.
Almost done with chemo? That’s great news! I hope your visits to the oncologist permanently become a distant memory.
Is there anything they can give you for that last Saturday, so the nausea doesn’t take you out again?
The 12 weeks of Taxol still has similar side effects, only supposedly not so bad. Then I’ll have some surgery (maybe still a full mastectomy… and I’d really like to keep my lymph nodes but I’m also scared to keep anything.) Then some radiation. Herceptin (not bad at all I hear, but you still have to go get poked) until August 2009. So it still seems like an eternity to go, to me…. But hopefully after that I’ll have a 60 year remission.
They *did* give me that drug that I refuse to take. I’d rather vomit for 20 minutes one day out of 21, than suffer permanent twitches. I meant to take a marinol the night before but neglected that. I’ll try to remember that next time.
Thanks for the kind words. I hope you’re getting some rest.
I can’t even believe how cool you are about the puking thing. I’m surprised to read that the surgery comes after chemo. The 60-year remission sounds good:)

Recent comments made me realize that I’m giving out info in context-free scattered bits, so I wrote a new page… “about my cancer”.
Puking has never really bothered me that much except for a few extremely bad hangovers. I used to drink a lot and get hungover a lot. But really, I’ve only puked a little on chemo.
