Are we there yet?
I’m totally bored with this whole “wake up at 5:30 and have digestive issues for two hours” thing. (Although it was sort of like that before chemo. Having someone unfairly accuse me, at work, has the same effect. It didn’t used to be as uncomfortable but it used to take as long.)
I’m also bored with “I hurt but I can’t tell where,” “I’m too stupid to figure out what I’m forgetting to do for work” and “I’m too cranky to do anything fun.”
I miss my classes. I miss talking to human beings, in my classes.
The bright spot in my life is I feel like Obama said my name on tv, when he said the words “early childhood education” during one of the debates. If I could get insurance at one of those jobs in spite of my spiffy new cancer history (which he also might take care of), then I don’t *care* if I ever get to retire. Just let me work with kids, some time before I die… and not have to do this useless boring humiliating brain eating job until I die.
(And that’s if they don’t lay me off due to financial reasons. Hopefully the machine couldn’t finish the paperwork before I can finish my cancer treatment.
Four Chemos to Go
I just noticed it’s been a while since I said how I am.
Yesterday was number 8 of 12 Taxol/Herceptin. Monday was a good “one poke” blood test, with my favorite rasta vampire.
I’m still tired. Or tired again. I did some yard work on the weekend but have been “cooling it” since then. The tiredness seems to get worse each cycle.
My heartburn is getting worse and starting sooner each cycle so I’m gonna get some tagamet. They give me that in a bag at chemo.
Work has been raising my blood pressure more than the medicine. But it’s not too bad, just a little irritation.
I’m obsessing over politics on the internet, and watched the debates on cnn.com. The internet gave out last night in the middle of the debate. I figured it’s the cable company getting back at us for not getting the tv part of their service. I turned on the radio, so there.
For the last several weeks, all I read besides “the internet” are Terry Pratchett books that I’ve already read.
